As part of Aston Welcome there is a free Meet and Greet service for new students who can be collected from the airport and taken directly to campus.
This service is available from Birmingham International Airport on:
Saturday 21 September and Sunday 22 September from 08.00 to 22.00 hours.
You asked we acted! In 2011 you told us that we should extend the Meet and Greet collection until later in the day. Therefore from 2012 onwards the last coach will leave the airport at 22.00.
Monday 23 September from 10.00 to 16.00 hours
You can register here. We also have important pre-departure information from the UKBA here
Who will meet me?
We have a team of ‘Aunties’, who are current Aston University students, who run the Meet and Greet service. The Aunties will be at Birmingham airport when you arrive, will help you with your luggage, and will then travel with you to the Aston campus on a coach or minibus paid for by the University. This will give you a chance to ask any questions you may have and get to know the people around you.
When you arrive at the campus, the Aunties will show you to your accommodation where you will be can collect a key to your room.
Not living on campus?
If you are not living on campus, you may still use Meet and Greet service and will be dropped off on the University campus. The Aunties will direct you to taxis that will take you to your non campus accommodation for the cost of the taxi cab fare.
Not arriving at Birmingham International Airport?
If you are arriving at another port or airport but would still like to use the Meet and Greet Serivce, you are still able to register. You will need to use public transport (coach or train) to get from the airport or port to Birmingham International Airport and from there you are free to use the Service in the same way as explained above. When registering for the service, please remember to tell us that you are arriving at another destination
