Choosing your level

Beginners - modules are designed for those with no knowledge of the language

Intermediate - you will need some prior knowledge of the language, usually a GCSE pass at grade C or above.

Advanced - you will need a grade C or above in the same language at AS level, or an equivalent qualification

Undergraduate - you will need a grade C or above in the same language at A level, or an equivalent qualification.

Before enrolling on an intermediate or advanced module, you maybe required to take a diagnostic test to check your level of competence.

Withdrawing or transferring

Any transfers must be authorised by the UWLP Director and (if you are taking the module as an option on another course) an academic from your School of study (if you are not part of LSS).

It is possible to transfer between levels i.e. Intermediate to Beginners but not between languages i.e. Spanish to French.

In normal circumstances, transfers into and out of language modules must take place by the end of the third week of term.
