Virginia started working at Aston as Postgraduate Programmes Co-Ordinator in LSS in August 2005. Virginia was born in Madrid, Spain, and moved to Beijing, P.R. China, with her family in 1992. She obtained her bilingual International Baccalaureate Diploma from the International School of Beijing. She then moved to Wales, where she obtained her BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from Cardiff University. Whilst in university, she worked as Production Manager and co-Editor of a short student film shot on location in Cardiff, which was voted ‘Highly Commanded’ at the BAVA Awards and was shown at student film festivals.

Responsibilities

Admin support for the Director of Postgraduate Programmes including:

  • Postgraduate Programmes (MA and MSc) enquiries.

  • Postgraduate Admissions (on-campus and distance learning programmes).

  • Postgraduate induction and enrolment.

  • Administration support for the Director of Postgraduate Programmes.

Course administrator for the following courses:

  • All MA programmes (on-campus)
  • MSc in TESOL/ TESP/ TEYL/ EMT (distance learning)
  • Certificate in Advanced Studies in ELT (distance-learning)
  • Diploma in Professional TESOL Studies (distance-learning)
  • Production of Postgraduate handbooks
  • Postgraduate student records
  • Postgraduate Blackboard and notice board
  • Postgraduate Graduation Reception
