Aurelio joined Aston University in 2006. His role involves convening all the levels in Spanish within the University-Wide Language Programme (UWLP) and three undergraduate modules on history and literature. As the Spanish Group at Aston University is an associated centre of the Instituto Cervantes, Aurelio has organised cultural events at Aston together with the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester and also supports the implementation of AVE (Virtual Spanish Classroom) as the main course materials within Spanish UWLP. After his MPhil at The University of Birmingham, Aurelio is currently doing his PhD at Aston University on the representation of Fascism in contemporary Spanish fiction.
