Research
in the French Subject Group at Aston University covers a wide range of
areas, which can be grouped broadly under four main fields:
linguistics, politics, literature and film & media. A number of
these interests overlap and provide the section with complementary and
interdisciplinary opportunities. In particular, we focus on:
- French political institutions and political leadership
- Social movements in France
- Writing, politics and gender
- French language acquisition and development
- Linguistic semantics
- French Media and cultural policy
- French literature and philosophy
