After the revolutions of 1989, Eastern Europe experienced a wide range of profound social and political changes, including the well-known transitions from authoritarian to democratic states, planned to market economies and in some cases, from relative peace to brutal ethnic conflicts.
Aston Centre for Europe has brought together the leading thinkers on transitions in Eastern Europe, who will debate the nature and legacies of these changes, some twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
