which the last four were as European Editor, David Marsh is today one
of the UK’s foremost experts on the European economy and one of the
best-informed commentators on Germany. He is the author of several
highly-regarded
books, and his latest volume, The
EURO: The Politics of the New Global Currency (2008, Yale University
Press) draws on unique interview and archival material to present a
fascinating and intimate portrait of this remarkable financial
instrument.
This timely event is organised and sponsored by
Aston University's newly-established centre for European affairs, the
Aston Centre for Europe (ACE). ACE aims both to stimulate and shape
debates about Europe and the challenges facing it at a local, national
and international level and as part of this mission, hosts high-profile
public events which are open to the general public.
