Fines charged for items returned or renewed late:
7 Day loan books - 50p per day (or part of a day)
Long loan books - 50p per day (or part of a day)
Recalled books - you will be charged fines of 50p per day (or part of a day) for the late return of books after the date given on the recall notice.
Journals - 50p per hour (or part of an hour).
1 day loan books/DVDs - 50p per hour (or part of an hour) if you return them late.
The administrative charge for a lost item is £20.00, plus replacement cost of the current edition of the item from a Library supplier, plus any fines that are outstanding.
Laptops - £2.00 per hour (or part of an hour). If you lose or damage a laptop, or if it is stolen, the full replacement cost of £500 will be charged.
Remember - Fines are always charged - even during vacations!
Fines can be paid at the self service machines (cash only) near the Help desk or at the Help desk (cash or cheque - payable to Aston University). If you are overseas or not able to travel to the University, please contact Anne Perkins.
