If you are attempting to access our electronic resources (subject databases, e-journals and e-books) from off-campus you may need to enter a username and password. This will usually be your Aston University network username and password (the same ones you use to login to PCs on-campus, your e-mails etc.).
It is important that you access resources via Aston e-Library. You should then be directed to the correct login page. If you are unsure of how to log in to each resource, instructions can be found by clicking on the information icon next to each resource in the Find Resource section.
If you are accessing journal articles via Find it @ Aston, make sure you check the authentication information (example below) before you click on GO.

** Your old Athens username and password (e.g. astsmithj) will no longer be valid. If you click on an Athens link, you should then select Alternative Login and then enter your Aston University network username and password.
You may also be required to select UK Federation/UK Access Management Federation and Aston University from a list of options to get to the login screen.
A small number of resources do not use this form of authentication. For these, you will need to use a separate username and password or log in via the proxy server. Please see folders in the Passwords and E-resources menu item in Library Matters for a list of separate usernames and passwords or ask at the Enquiry Desk in the Library.
