SCONUL Access

Aston University is a member of the SCONUL Access scheme.
This is a reciprocal scheme offering access to Staff and researchers (band A)
Part-time, distance learning and placement
students (band B)
Taught postgraduates (band C)
to borrow books from other member libraries.

If you are a full-time Undergraduate student you are eligible for a visitor card to use Aston University Library for reference study purposes.  Please note: students with a SCONUL Reference pass for Aston University are NOT granted access during our busy examination period from: Monday 26th March 2012 - Friday 22 June 2012

How do I join?

If you are from a member library, you will need to complete an application form, which you can get from your own University Library. The application form will need to be countersigned by a member of your Library’s staff. You will receive a SCONUL Access card which indicates both your university and the date of expiry.  Please bring the card to Aston University Library, together with your University ID card and two passport sized photographs, during serviced opening hours.
You will need to complete a registration form, either in advance or a form is available from the Library, and your visitor card will be ready for you to collect within one week. The card is used for borrowing books and you will need to show your card to Reception staff to gain access to the building.
