Additional information for part-time, distance learning or placement students

Library & Information Services recognises that time is one of the major problems you may have in making best use of Library services.  We are committed to helping you to make the most of your time by offering you some additional services.  Remember you can use our self service facilities to borrow, return and renew books when the Help desk is closed.

As a part-time, distance learning or placement student you can also: 

• Request books to be posted to you.
• Renew books online or by telephone +44 (0)121 204 4525. You may need to leave a message if you phone during busy times.
• Request a scanned copy of articles from journals and chapters from books, which can then be emailed to you.  Details of this service and costs are available here.
• Request items which are not available at Aston University through our inter-library loans service.  You will need a counter-signature from your lecturer or supervisor.
• Use other UK University libraries.
• Use e-resources both on and off-campus.
• Get help via Library Matters on Blackboard.
• Access Colin Neville's ebook The complete guide to referencing and avoiding plagiarism  using your university username and password
• See books on study skills available from the Library.
• Request help via email.
• Keep up-to-date through the Library Blogworm.
