Research Interests

Medicines management:

In secondary care

  • The correlation of drug levels / use with clinical effect
  • Adverse drug reaction reporting by hospital pharmacists- determining the drivers for reporting and modelling solutions to under reporting
  • Control of antibiotic prescribing. Developing prescribing indicators, evaluating prescribing patterns, reasons for therapy choice and evaluating control mechanisms

In primary care

  • Developing prescribing and medicines usage indicators to predict compliance
  • Modelling medicines wastage patterns to determine reasons for and solutions to wasted medicines

Professional roles and educational needs

  • New roles for pharmaceutical care within the community in the context of pharmaceutical public health requirements
  • Pharmaceutical roles and educational models within Europe
