The School of Life & Health Sciences offers an extensive range of exciting research opportunities and our strong research environment ensures PhD students develop expertise in fields that are relevant to today's science practices.

World-leading facilities
Research students are supported by our excellent research laboratories and equipment - these laboratories have been undergoing a multi million pound refurbishment programme since 2006.

Excellent RAE results
The exceptional quality of our research was confirmed in the latest Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) results – with research in Allied Health Professions and Studies ranked 3rd out of 63 UK higher education institutions, based on quality and quantity of research output.

Our three core areas of Research cover : Biomedical Sciences, Neurosciences and Health Sciences. Please see below for all currently available projects.  They either have £7,000 per year School Overseas Scholarships attached to the Research Projects (as stated in the above Advert) Or for those Home/EU/Overseas Students that are Self Funded or Externally Funded:
