The School of Life & Health Sciences offers an extensive range of exciting research opportunities and our strong research environment ensures PhD students develop expertise in fields that are relevant to today's science practices.

World-leading facilities
Research students are supported by our excellent research laboratories and equipment - these laboratories have been undergoing a multi million pound refurbishment programme since 2006.

Excellent RAE results
The exceptional quality of our research was confirmed in the latest Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) results – with research in Allied Health Professions and Studies ranked 3rd out of 63 UK higher education institutions, based on quality and quantity of research output.
