Wendy joined Aston University as a secretary on a full time basis in 1983 and progressed to Senior Administrator for the Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry Department in 1986. She had a break in service after the birth of her second son Oliver in 1993. Wendy returned to the University in 1998 to join the Optometry Clinic in the School of Life and Health Sciences where she progressed to LHS Senior Research Administrator before applying for the position of Centre Co-ordinator in the Aston Research Centre for Healthy Ageing in March 2010.
Her main responsibilities are:

to support and develop the research activities of ARCHA

to coordinate and develop links between ARCHA research clusters and internal and external researchers

to raise the profile of ARCHA internally and externally

to represent ARCHA activities to lay audiences and to manage a research participant panel
