As we age, our body’s ability to repair and regenerate itself drastically reduces: tissues in elderly people are particularly slow to heal. In effect, we out-live our bodies.
The aim of this cluster is to understand the biological and psychosocial consequences of this, to identify “early warning” systems for self diagnosis through biomarkers to undertake risk factor analysis and to develop and investigate methods and tools to help the body repair and regenerate itself.
