Undergraduate
Students with STPM may be considered for year 1 entry. STPM is considered equivalent to A levels on a grade for grade basis. Some degree programmes, such as engineering, sciences and languages, require specific subject backgrounds.
We also accept students presenting with strong grades in other international secondary school qualifications - for example, from Australia and Canada.
If you have a diploma from a recognised Malaysian institution, you may be considered for direct admission to the second year of undergraduate programmes. You will have achieved a minimum grade B average in the Diploma to be considered. Relevant subjects must have been covered in the diploma.
You should have a minimum of 5C in the Cambridge English Language syllabus 1119 (SPM 1119) exam. If you cannot show that you have obtained this grade in English, then you can provide us with an IELTS or TOEFL qualification. Please see standard English language requirements
Postgraduate – Taught
You can apply for a 1 year masters programme with a good undergraduate degree from a recognised Malaysian University. The specific requirement will vary depending on the course you are applying for at Aston and the Malaysian university from which you have graduated.
If you are applying for finance, engineering, science or social science based subjects; you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree. There are a number of programmes in business and management which are appropriate for students from any subject background.

Postgraduate - MBA
You can apply for the MBA programme with a recognised undergraduate degree, in any subject area, and a minimum of three years post graduation managerial / professional work experience. You should have a good undergraduate degree from a recognised Malaysian University to be considered for admission.

Postgraduate - Research
You can apply for a research degree programme with a Master’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognised Malaysian University. The specific requirement will vary depending on the course you are applying for at Aston and the Malaysian university from which you have graduated.
Each of Aston's Schools of Study has a number of research groups with the potential to host PhD students. Research specialisms include finance, economics, marketing, organisational psychology, bioenergy, knowledge engineering, photonics, languages, biomedical sciences, neurosciences, health sciences and more.
You have to submit a detailed research proposal outlining your intended research topic, its objectives, proposed method of research and an indication of how the proposed research topic relates to previous work by other researchers. Find out more on Aston's Postgraduate research pages.
