Aston University provides a welcoming and multi-cultural learning experience to approximately 10,000 students, many of whom live on our safe and friendly city centre campus. The University has more than 2,300 international students from over 120 countries studying a wide range of subjects.

Aston University's links with Romania

Romanian students have been studying at Aston for many years and each year we welcome many more new students. We currently have 49 Romanian students studying at Aston University.

Academic staff regularly visit Romania to work with our partner institutions and to take part in international conferences.

There is a very active European community on campus. There are a number of societies which may be of particular interest to European students.

There are also a number of societies which bring together students from similar religious backgrounds. Find out more about societies at Aston.  

Birmingham is a multi-cultural city and there is a strong European community. You'll find European  restaurants, supermarkets, music, dance and more in the city.

Staff from the International Office visit Romania several times per year to take part in British Council Education UK Exhibitions, visit schools and colleges and to meet with students through our official representative offices.

Programmes with specific subject requirements request a score of 9.0 in individual subjects ie Engineering and Sciences 

Postgraduate - Masters (EXAMPLE)

Only Bachelor degrees taken since 2005 from recognised universities are acceptable with a score of 8.0 our of 10 plus IELTS/TEOFL

If you are applying for finance, engineering or science based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

There are a number of conversion courses in the Business School which will accept students from any subject background.

Postgraduate - MBA 

Only Bachelor degrees taken since 2005 from recognised universities are acceptable with a score of 8.0 our of 10 plus IELTS/TEOFL and a minimum of three years post graduation managerial work experience, as stipulated by the Association of MBA (AMBA) requirements.

Postgraduate - Research 

Each of Aston's Schools of Study has a number of research groups with the potential to host PhD students. Research specialisms include finance, economics, marketing, organisational psychology, bioenergy, knowledge engineering, photonics, languages, biomedical sciences, neurosciences, health sciences and more.
