Aston University provides a welcoming and multi-cultural learning experience to approximately 10,000 students, many of whom live on our safe and friendly city centre campus. The University has more than 2,300 international students from over 120 countries studying a wide range of subjects.

Aston University's links with Norway

Norwegian students have been studying at Aston for many years and each year we welcome many more new students. We currently have 14 Norwegian students studying at Aston University.

Academic staff regularly visit Norway to work with our partner institution BI Norwegian School of Management and to take part in international conferences.

There are a number of societies which may be of particular interest to Norwegian students.

Undergraduate

Entry requirements by school of study.
Aston Business School  Engineering & Applied Science Languages & Social Sciences
Recommend a grade of 4.5 out of 6 inc 4 in English and 5 in French/German/Spanish as applicable when applying for IBML Recommend a grade of 4 out of 6 inc 4 in English and 5 in specified subjects like Maths/Physics

Recommend a grade of 4.5 out of 6 inc 4 in English and 5 in a French/German/Spanish as applicable.

Life & Health Sciences

Recommend a grade of 4.5 out of 6 (5.0 out 6.0 for Optometry) inc 4 in English plus:

  • MPharm- 5 in Chemistry and 5 in either Biology, Physics or Maths 

  • Optometry - 6 in Biology and 6 in Maths or Physics

  • Psychology - 5 in a science subject

  • Biology & Biomedical Science - 5 in Biology

Engineering and Science subjects will require specific subjects, but students from any stream can apply for courses in Aston Business School.  

English language requirements for undergraduate courses.

Postgraduate - Masters

You should have at least a grade B from your undergraduate degree as well as the appropriate English Language requirements. 

If you are applying for finance, engineering or science based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

There are a number of conversion courses in the Business School which will accept students from any subject background.

Postgraduate - MBA 

You can come from any subject background, but should have at least a grade B from your undergraduate degree and a minimum of three years post graduation managerial work experience, as stipulated by the Association of MBA (AMBA) requirements.

Postgraduate - Research 

Each of Aston's Schools of Study has a number of research groups with the potential to host PhD students. Research specialisms include finance, economics, marketing, organisational psychology, bioenergy, knowledge engineering, photonics, languages, biomedical sciences, neurosciences, health sciences and more.
