Aston Skype Campaigns 2011

Skype Campaign
Throughout June and July, International students at Aston University have been busy contacting offer holders to answer their questions and give them valuable information about the University prior to making their final decision of where to study in the UK.

A group of current International students acted as ‘International Ambassadors’ for Aston University and they really enjoyed the opportunity to tell prospective students about their experiences at Aston, and enable applicants to gain a feel for what life at the University is really like.  Offer holders who received calls told the ambassadors that the phone call made them feel at ease about coming to Aston, and it was a great opportunity to speak to someone who was from the same country as them, or on a similar course.  The campaign was run for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate offer holders, and the ambassadors were frequently asked questions about accommodation, student life, the city of Birmingham, and the University welcome week.

12 nationalities were represented amongst the 22 International ambassadors, and over the three campaigns we managed to speak to over 1000 Aston offer holders in 89 different countries.  This highlights the diversity of Aston’s applicants and current students.  We currently have 22% of our total student body coming from overseas, with over 120 different nationalities represented on campus.

We hope those students that received a phone call from our International Ambassadors enjoyed this opportunity!
