Installing Advertised Software

Your computer must be connected to the University wired network to install advertised software.

When a new advert becomes available to you a prompt will appear in the bottom right corner of your screen (Figure 1).

When you are ready to install the software simply follow the instructions below.

  1. Open the Start Menu and the click on Control Panel

  2. Now click on Get programs which is in the Programs section (Figure 2)

  3. Click on the programme you wish to install and then click Install (Figure 3)

  4. Ensure that the 'Run program automatically when download completes' box is checked and then click the Download button (Figure 4)

All advertised programmes are desinged to install with as little user interaction as possible.  If you are prompted for information and are not sure what to do please contact your Support Team.

  2. On the left hand side of the Control Panel window click Switch to Classic View (if you are not already in classic view) (Figure 2)

  3. Click on Run Advertised Programs (Figure 3)

  4. Click on the programme you wish to install and then click the Run button (Figure 4)

  5. Ensure that the 'Run program automatically when download completes' box is checked and then click the Download button (Figure 5)
