You can see all of our photos on facebook. The system consists of 130 x 240 monocrystalline PV panels, and is estimated to generate around 26,000 kWh of electricity per year. The is the equivalent of about six medium sized UK households! For those of you who don't know, a hibernaculum (meaning "tent for winter quarters") is a shelter for hibernating animals. This system provides air from outside into the sever room for a majority of the year when outside temperatures are below (around) 24 OC. This system has already shown a decrease of approx. 65% compared to the large air condition units that were running 24/7. These units will now only be used when the air outside cannot meet the cooling demands of the space.
