Project
Following a 14 month Industrial Placement at Kraft Foods, a research project into sustainable
materials for Coffee Packaging was set by their R&D Packaging Team. After conducting in depth materials research for the company this knowledge was applied to a different product sector, attempting to redesign single use medical disposables to make them more sustainable. The outcome was the redesign of disposable forceps used for swabbing in surgery. The new design was made from biopolymers which were sustainably sourced and acted as a biofuel when incinerated.
