A musician by training, the first fourteen years of my working life were spent in arts management. I entered into HE administration in 2006 when I joined the School of Engineering and Applied Science as Administrative Officer. My main area of responsibility in this role was to support the School’s research activities culminating in the RAE2008 submission. In January 2008 I moved to my current role of Senior School Administrator which, in general terms, is to oversee administrative activities in the School. This is quite a wide remit and covers activities such as admissions, placements, timetabling, marketing and quality issues. I often represent the School in these areas at the University committee level. Additionally, I am the secretary to the School Management Team and School Board.
