Sustainable Environment Research Group

The Sustainable Environment Research Group (SERG) brings together experts from a range of backgrounds including civil engineering, mechanical engineering, hydrology, ecology and computer modelling. Our common interest is in meeting the challenges posed by the impact of human activities on the environment. We aim to develop tools and technologies that conserve and rehabilitate ecosystems while enabling international development.

Important themes in our research include water resources and water treatment, land resources and land-based engineering, renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable transport.  We work with a number of businesses and funding agencies at the UK, EU and international level.
