The aim of the project is to assess the feasibility and benefits of installing power convertors at the Network Operators connection point to residential customers.
As the capacity of the existing Low Voltage (LV) grid is limited and the power quality problems related to LV network are under consideration from the academic community and engineers, new solutions are needed. Power electronic interfaces are capable of solving both of these issues when they are placed between the grid and the customer/consumer. Several power electronic interfaces have been assessed for their suitability in terms of increasing network capacity in combination with improving power quality.
