EBRI is leading an ambitious international project to promote the wider adoption of bioenergy in regions of North West Europe to reduce carbon emissions, increase energy security and employment opportunities.
This €8m BioenNW project has been put in place to support companies, organisations and local authorities to deliver local bioenergy in parts of the UK, France, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
BioenNW will test a new process which combines pyrolysis and methanisation, with demonstration proposed in each region.
As part of the project, Bioenergy Support Centres are being developed in each of these regions to help local and regional authorities, businesses and investors. A Decision Support Tool will also be available as part of the project to help interested parties to create a bioenergy project in their region.
The Project is supported by the Interreg IVB Northwest Europe Programme.
