Led by Professor Andreas Hornung, EBRI acts as a focus for
pan-European activities on scientific and technological aspects of biomass
production, conversion and utilization of products used for renewable power,
heat, transport fuels, hydrogen and chemicals.
Research
To accelerate the adoption and exploitation of biomass
thermal conversion technologies, EBRI performs research and knowledge transfer
in all aspects of bioenergy, by acting as a demonstrator of these technologies
and by providing industrial research collaborators the opportunity to run
process trials, evaluate feed materials and study combinations of processes
prior to investment.
Major European Projects
Bioenergy Research and Industrial Development in the West Midlands
EBRI is being funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to
develop a new centre of excellent in Bioenergy technologies and a focal
point for supporting regional business with technology transfer and
growth opportunities. More >
Delivering Local Bioenergy to North West Europe
EBRI is leading an ambitious international project to promote the wider
adoption of bioenergy in regions of North West Europe to reduce carbon
emissions, increase energy security and employment opportunities. More >
