Abstract
Bayesian
belief networks are a principled way of modelling and reasoning with
uncertainty. As such, they are important tools for many problems that
involve making decisions - diagnostics, decision support, and
classification. This talk will cover the basic principles of belief
networks, the main current research directions, and illustrate these
with two real-world applications - in condition monitoring and
reliability design.
