Opportunities for Bio-oil in European Heat and Power Markets

A technical and economic study of the opportunities for bio-oil in the European energy markets has recently been concluded (July 2003). The project examined the competitivity of bio-oil in a variety of heat, power and CHP applications in every EU country by comparing the cost of a service delivered by bio-oil with the comparable service delivered by a utility or by purchase of a fossil fuel.  This will identify the most promising opportunities in each country and provide better focus for companies to enter this market.
