The main activity of this initiative is to fund researchers from any European country to carry out research at any of the 26 project partners located outside of their home country to utilise the thermochemical biomass conversion installations.

This event was organised by Aston University Bioenergy Research Group. The proceedings contain 80 peer reviewed papers on biomass, bioenergy and biofuels and represents research being undertaken in the UK, with some highlights from overseas.

BERG is involved in a project aimed at developing new technologies to transform bio-oil into a more efficient source of renewable energy, potentially capable of replacing fuels such as diesel.

The Bioenergy Research Group (BERG) has secured €736,000 (£670,000) towards its role in DIBANET (Development of Integrated Biomass Approaches Network), which aims to produce a sustainable diesel miscible biofuel (DMB) for use in Europe and Latin America.
