What are Foundation Degrees?
Foundation Degrees are degree level qualifications which universities and employers work together to design and deliver, enabling you to benefit from both academic and work-based learning.
Foundations Degrees are ideal if you want to improve your skills and career prospects whilst remaining in work. Aston's Foundation Degrees are varied, flexible and accessible. We have strong links with business, industry and the public sectors, and have developed courses with organisations such as BMW, E.on, SpecSavers and the NHS.
How long is a Foundation Degree?
A full time Foundation Degree programme will usually take two years
to complete. However, this includes work based learning so a large
proportion of your studies will take place in the workplace, assisted
by a range of online materials. After completing your Foundation Degree
you can fast track on to a full honours degree, which will usually take
a further year to complete full time, or two to three years part time.
Who are Foundation Degrees for?
Most students on our programmes will already be in work and seeking
a course that will give them the opportunity to develop the academic
and practical skills required in their employment sector. However, some
of our programmes are open to people not currently in employment, who
wish to improve their skills and career prospects.
