Higher education business
and community engagement describes partnerships between universities and
members of the public, schools, businesses and the wider community. We have a thriving engagement community, and are
constantly developing new and exciting ways of sharing academic research with
the wider public, to forge mutually beneficial partnerships between communities
and the School.
Here in EAS we build upon
teaching, learning and research projects within the School to:
- promote equalities in professional education and
professional practice
- encourage enthusiasm for subjects suffering from
declining uptake at secondary school
- lead to new opportunities for learning and
research
- communicate the School’s work to the public
- encourage applications to university from
under-represented groups
- promote community
engagement in student learning; through curriculum development
