Aston Services is a company of consulting material engineers which provides a complete range of independent and confidential consulting, research, development and materials testing services to the civil engineering and construction industries. It is based in Aston Science Park, which is closely linked with Aston University. This provides access to laboratory facilities, expertise and specialised knowledge derived from research in a variety of disciplines.

Aston Science Park

Aston Services is approved to carry out specific United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) tests. Its specialist team of scientists and engineers are also able to undertake a wide range of on-site and laboratory inspection services, ranging from microscopic analysis of samples, through to full scale testing/appraisal of civil engineering structures. In addition the company specialises in developing procedures for assessing performance and durability of materials. We tailor our efforts to fulfil our clients’ specific requirements. Clients include government agencies, local authorities, consulting engineers, contractors and manufacturers of materials for the construction industry.

Well equipped laboratory facilities are available for testing of a range of materials such as:

Additionally, Aston Services has access to advanced techniques for analysis and microstructural investigations. These include, mercury intrusion porosimetry, differential thermal and thermogravimetric analyses, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, electron probe microanalysis, x-ray diffractometry and spectroscopy, solid state NMR spectroscopy, Auger electron spectroscopy and x-photo electron spectroscopy. Expertise exist within the organisation for a wide range of investigations and tests including:

How to find us

From whichever direction you are approaching Birmingham, Aston Science Park and Aston University are best reached from the M6. Exit the M6 at Junction 6, and follow signs for the A38(M) to the city centre. Ignore signs to 'Aston'. Stay on the A38(M) (Aston Expressway) for about two miles until you reach the third exit. Aston Science Park and Aston University are sign posted from here.
