Hello and welcome to the the Aston Computer Science Society (ACSS)!
ACSS brings together like-minded
people with an interest in Computing. You do not have to be studying
Computing to participate in our many gaming, film and pizza and
programming marathon events!
We re-launched ACSS in 2011 and with a member base of over fifty people
we are confident we will continue to grow and hold a strong presence in
the university and beyond.
ACSS has already established strong links with local and global companies
such as Capgemini and Pinewood. These companies regularly collaborate
with us to host GURU lectures and workshops at their offices and within
the university.
As well as company events we regularly host our own film evenings and take
part in quiz nights. We have also organized paintball events, a LAN party and an ethical hacking event. We are in the process of formulating an Aston University programming team to compete in local and national coding events.
The Aston University Computer Science department is very supportive of us and have
provided us with our very own common room equipped with a projector, desktops
and servers.
ACSS is a pathway for members to get to know their fellow students, tutors and industry professionals better in an informal environment.
ACSS also aims to empower members by encouraging them to become executive
members that are responsible for our agenda.
Keep up to date with our activities and feel free to contact us with any
