Our excellent links with the chemical
process industries allows undergraduate students to test and expand
their knowledge, skills and understanding with a paid, twelve-month
professional placement. It will provide integrated
industrial/professional training, often in a position of
responsibility, in areas such as the design, development, commissioning
or operation of a chemical plant.
The industrial year of the undergraduate courses
gives relevance to the academic components of the courses. It exposes
students to modern industrial practice, problems which can and do arise
within the field. It also increases the students' attractiveness to
potential employers. Our students have been successfully placed in many
organisations, in the UK and Europe.
"I
chose to do a placement year as I have always had a "hands on" approach
to life. After only three months I already feel like an integral part
of the team. It's such a friendly working environment here, which
really aids the learning process."
Jim Taylor, a BEng, Chemical Engineering student at Aston University
We will arrange your industrial placement
for students in conjunction with a sponsoring company. We will also
initiate opportunities for students to visit companies, undertake
commercial project work and compete for sponsorships and prizes.
