Visual Impairments

If you are Visually Impaired or think you may have an impairment DANU services may include:

  • Advice and support with applying for Disabled Students’ Allowance  (DSA) or other available funding
  • Referral to Assistive Technology Officer (ATO) for advice 
  • Liaison with your School of Study  to arrange any extra support needed
  • Study Support Workers e.g. note-takers, readers or other study support (DSA approval or other funding source required)
  • An arrangement with the Library to enable you to extend book loans
  • Liaison with the student Accommodation team where appropriate
  • An orientation of the campus when you arrive

We may also liaise with your School of Study to arrange appropriate support such as:

  • Lecture notes or presentation materials in advance
  • Extra exam time in examinations or other assessment arrangements
  • Additional support from your Personal Tutor
