For Aston students with Asperger syndrome DANU services may include:
- Advice and support with applying for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) or other available funding
- Advice on diagnostic assessments
- Referral to Assistive Technology Officer (ATO) for advice
- Mentor support (DSA approval or other funding source required)
- Study Support Workers e.g. note-takers, readers or other study support (DSA approval or other funding source required)
- An arrangement with the library to enable you to extend book loans
- Access to Counselling Services
- Liaison with your School of Study to arrange appropriate support such as:
- Lecture notes or presentation materials in advance
- Extra exam time in examinations or other assessment arrangements
- Additional support from your Personal Tutor
Aston students, who think they may have an Autistic Spectrum Disorder, but have not received a diagnosis, can contact DANU for advice and, if appropriate, a diagnostic assessment can be arranged.
