For Aston students with a Hearing Impairment DANU services may include:
- Advice and support with applying for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) or other available funding
- Referral to Assistive Technology Officer (ATO) for advice
- Liaison with the student Accommodation team regarding Deaf Alerter systems, etc.
- Study Support workers, e.g. note-takers, readers or other study support (DSA approval or other funding source required)
- Sessions with a visiting teacher for language support (DSA approval or other funding source required)
- British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreters, lip speakers and communication support workers (DSA approval or other funding source required)
- Liaison with your School of Study to arrange appropriate support such as:
- Lecture notes or presentation materials in advance
- Extra exam time in examinations or other assessment arrangements
- Additional support from your Personal Tutor
