Live chat - coping with University

Counsellors from  the University Counselling Service will be hosting an online chat on Wednesday 24th October between 1 and 2 pm. Our counsellors will be responding to your questions and concerns about coping with University – whether you've just started your First year,  or you're returning after the summer or a placement year.

We will be discussing some of the things that  you may be experiencing: trying to  settle in and feel  part of a group, missing your friends from  home,  living with others in your flat,  and getting back into  university life if you have been  away.  In  fact, you can  ask  a question about  any aspect of the first few weeks of term.

Some of the typical  questions that could be asked, or concerns you might raise, include:  Everybody else seems to  be making friends and having a good time,  but I still  feel  a bit lost -  is there anything I can  do?  I really enjoyed sixth  form  college   but University feels so  different…  I really enjoyed my placement but I am finding it hard to  settle back to  University life – what  can  I do?

If you wish, you can submit a question in advance.

All comments sent to the chat are anonymous.
