Here you can see an overview of undergraduate mentoring programmes.
New students are in contact via e-mail with a current student from the moment they accept their place at Aston throughout September, to help them prepare for starting university.
First year students are matched with a second year mentor from their degree programme to share their knowledge and ease transition into life at Aston.
Second year students are matched with final years returning from placement to offer support on the placement search and experience.
Students on placement can e-mentor a second year student as in Placement Mentoring, or can have a final year e-mentor, for an insight into the last year of study and to keep informed of the news from campus.
Graduates can keep in touch with their Aston roots and help other students by e-mentoring a final year student, giving advice on seeking a graduate position and what to expect from full time work.
First year, newly arriving postgraduate students are mentored by more experienced postgraduate student mentors. The mentors offer advice, guidance and practical tips and support the integration of the new students.
Second year undergraduates are matched to professional industry mentors who offer ‘real life’ business advice and provide an insight into leading organisations.
