Living on Campus 2013/14

Living on campus as part of a strongly interlaced and integrated residential community is a crucial contributor for your life at Aston.

Within this practical section is information about your residence plus information specific to your building, services accessible to you in your residence and elsewhere on campus.

Students can choose between our new build accommodation (1307 rooms) situated in the heart of the campus and featuring the highest standards of quality living; comprising of en-suite study bedrooms in 5 or 7 bedroom flats; Lakeside (647 rooms) where rooms also have en-suite facilities.

Students who live on campus do so for the whole year from the beginning of the 1st term right up to 28th June 2013. Your room is yours through Christmas and Easter so there is no need to pack up your belongings for the holidays! Accommodation fees include all utility costs and communal cleaning charges, so budgeting is easy.

The accommodation on campus is let for:    
•    40 weeks for new International fee paying students and EU (non British) students
•    39 weeks for new Home students and all Returning students


Facilities for students with a disability are catered for in Lakeside and in our new build and we can provide mixed sex and single sex accommodation (not guaranteed). First-year students are guaranteed a place on campus provided they choose Aston as their first (Conditional Firm/Unconditional Firm) choice on their UCAS form submitting their completed application form by the specified date. Friendly and professional staff are responsible for the day-to-day running of residences ensuring that your accommodation is clean, safe and secure, and supported by 24-hour services.

Accommodation Choice

There are four types of accommodation available: from new en-suite five or seven bedroom units in our New Build residences to Lakeside en-suite and standard accommodation in Stafford Tower.

New build residences en-suite are unrivalled in quality, environmental performance, and style.

The accommodation consists of en-suite 5 and 7 bed units with shared kitchen facilities, setting new standards in quality and enabling students to enjoy the best in city centre, on campus living.
Situated on the edge of the campus overlooking the ornamental lake, Lakeside en-suite is perfect if privacy is important to you, Lakeside’s en-suite rooms in flats or maisonettes for between 6 -10 students, provides students with their own shower, toilet and wash basin with shared kitchen facilities.

Bedding Packs

Bedding Packs can be purchased on arrival from Harriet Martineau Reception.
The costs are £25.00 for a single bed and £30.00 for a double bed.
