Accommodation

Allocation Policy

The University Allocation Policy for places in Aston University Residences is set out below. The guarantee of accommodation applies to the following:

  • New Undergraduate students holding Aston as their firm choice i.e. Unconditional Firm (UF) or Conditional Firm (CF) for first year of study, including Year 0 students going into the first year of study
  • All New Postgraduate students
  • Exchange students at Aston for a full Academic year
  • International fee-paying students for the duration of their course including students on a local placement who should apply by the deadline for Returning students each year
  • Final Year students, who return from placement abroad or study year abroad
  • Care leavers

In order to protect your guarantee of accommodation we would ask that students holding Aston as their Firm Choice submit their application by the following dates as appropriate: 

  • New UK and EU (Non-British) Undergraduate students 2nd August 2013
  • International fee-paying and all New Postgraduate 9th August 2013
We will endeavor at all times to allocate you to your first choice accommodation subject to availability.

Insurance and Clearing Applicants

We welcome applications from Insurance and Clearing applicants and will do everything possible to allocate you a room on campus.


Exchange Students

We welcome applications from Exchange applicants (one and two term students) who fall outside of the (three term) guarantee and will do everything possible to allocate you a room on campus.


Returning Students

We encourage applications from all returning students and would request that these are submitted by 10 February 2013 to assist us in allocating you to your first choice accommodation.

Group Applications - We welcome group applications from returning students and if you wish to be allocated with your friends,  we would ask that you:

  • Submit your application form at the same time
  • Apply for the same choice accommodation in the same order of preference
  • Put the names and nine digit student number of the students you wish to share with in the application notes section of the accommodation application form
  • Check your emails regularly after submitting your form in order that you do not miss the acceptance deadline.
