Lucy Cave

Lucy is studying part-time for a PhD in Pedagogical Research focussing on student perceptions of plagiarism. The study will capture student perceptions of plagiarism in UK HEIs, from the first year of undergraduate study through to final year. The research focuses on the differences between perceptions of plagiarism amongst social sciences students and those held by students studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Using a combination of quantitative and qualitative research techniques (mixed methodology), a longitudinal research design is being employed to capture changes in these perceptions over the degree course.

Lucy has worked at Aston University since 2007 as Research Executive to both the Vice-Chancellor’s and Pro-Vice-Chancellors’ Office.  She is involved in a number of key institutional-level research projects across the University and has a particular interest in Learning and Teaching Research.
