Brief
Rachel had gathered
together 8 Business School students who were to be interviewed about their
experiences of their placements abroad. The concept was to ask them each a
specific question, which would allow us to cover a wide range of subjects and
qualities about living and working abroad during a placement.

We
filmed in our CLIPP studios, with each interviewee stood against the printed
University backdrop. We employed the diagonal stripe of the artwork to give us
a split-screen effect that allowed us to superimpose text onto the opposite
side of the screen. The text was a literal echo of what they were saying at the
time; it served as subtitling as well as a way of opening up these videos into
non-sync uses, like on big screens where sound is not required. We ended up with 8 videos that ran between 1 and 3 minutes each. They were
encoded for the VLE and as WMV for presentations.
