Brief
We
were asked to make a promotional video about the work of Links into Languages,
which provides support, resources and training for languages teachers. First we
went to Southampton University, where we filmed interviews with the key
partners of Links – the Programe Director, the Director of the Association for
Language Learning, the Head of Cultural Networks and a National Specialism
Co-ordinator at the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust. These interviews
were edited into separate videos, and there was a plan to use some soundbites
from each interview in the promo video we were also producing. We also filmed a
couple of events at Aston University and one at a college in Stoke-On-Trent. However,
changing priorities within the Links programme meant that this promo did not
get made for some time, and when it did, it was to publicise the Network for
Languages scheme which replaced it. We were able to reuse many of the content
we had already shot, and bring in not just the new branding and colour scheme
from the Networks scheme but also written user feedback that was used as text
on screen.
