Brief
We
were asked to make a suite of case study, role play videos which were to be
used as discussion pieces within the final year undergraduate pharmacy course.
These would be used in getting students to consider their communication skills
when dealing with colleagues in a hospital environment.
Products
Using scripts which had
been written by Lucy and Julie, we filmed a number of short scenes in the
Clinical Skills Room at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, using colleagues to
play staff and patients. This filming resulted in a total of 13 short videos,
covering subject areas as antibiotic reconstitution, drug history taking,
insulin administration and decision making. These were all encoded and will be
delivered through Aston’s VLE.
