Brief
We were commissioned to
make two videos about using the self-serve points that allow students to take
out and return books, and the Follow Me Printing system that crosses the whole
university campus. Each video was to show ‘the human, helpful face’ of the
Library (i.e. presented by actual Library staff) and be a direct-to-camera
presentation about the procedures and sequences of each system. Each video
needed to be simple and uncomplicated, and was therefore to be short yet sweet.

We
filmed these pieces-to-camera on location, using the relevant equipment – each
presenter gave short clips of presentation that were sequenced together in the
edit. We did a version of each video with burnt in subtitles, for the Library
to put on to their big screens which could then be played without sound, while
still getting the message and the sequence across to the casual viewer.
“The videos are
excellent: just what we wanted. I think the subtitling works particularly well
and will be useful for our big screens. Thank you for all your work on this.
The videos are going to be extremely useful on an on-going basis.” Lydia
