election debate

Brief

The Business School was staging a ‘Question Time’-type event at Lakeside Conference Centre in the run-up to the General Election and had invited 3 prospective Parliamentary candidates to speak and debate before a selected audience. We were asked to record this event and package the video content into short consumable clips that included each candidate’s opening speech, and their answers to questions form the audience.

Products

We recorded this with 3 cameras; two static and one manned. We also took a sound feed from the live sound desk operated by the Lakeside AV technician. We then cut the video into 14 videos – one of the welcome address, one from each of the three candidates and 10 of the audience questions. They were all bookended with Aston Business School-branded graphics that had recently been created for another event and which merely needed the text rewriting. The videos wentlive on the Business School’s news pages only a few days after the event, capitalising on the immediacy and newsworthiness of the event.
