CLIPP works closely with the Estates Department to manage the 62 pool teaching rooms bookable through Central Teaching Operations. We provide
technical support and ensure that there is consistency in the equipment and operation of these rooms with a minimum provision of a fixed data projector, resident PC, laptop input plate and control panel. All teaching pc’s have a standard “image” to ensure consistency and maximise effective room utilisation. Teaching staff requiring access to subject specific software for teaching purposes should ensure that this is available via Remote Desktop or use their own laptop. Many rooms also have enhanced facilities such as electronic visualisers and voice enhancement.
Photographs and downloadable operating instructions for each room are available and we strongly recommend that all users consult this list and detail any specific technical requirements when first booking teaching rooms.
As teaching and learning methods change so too must the environments in which these activities take place. CLIPP liaises with teaching staff about their current and future styles of delivery in order to pedagogically inform the design of future learning spaces. To assist in this process
SW309 provides a potential model for a technology enhanced environment particularly designed for collaborative learning and group work. Staff can specify this room for timetabled teaching or one off events though CTO.
