Confirmation

What is Confirmation?

Confirmation takes place between July & August when the University receives examination results for those applicants who have accepted Conditional offers.

Please check the UCAS website to see which results UCAS send directly to the university. If your qualification is not on the list please send directly to the University as soon as you receive your result.

Please check UCAS Track to see our decision rather than call the University. UCAS will send you a Confirmation letter in the post.  Aston will also send you a Confirmation email which will provide information regarding joining the University.

All conditions (including non-academic conditions) of offers must be met in full by 4pm on the 31 August 2011 to guarantee a place. This includes those applicants that are awaiting the outcome of an appeal or re-mark.

If you wish to apply for a re-mark please ensure it is a priority re-mark and should be set in motion on results day. For further information please contact your School or College where you took your A Levels.

I've met the conditions of my offer

If you have exactly met the conditions of your offer and applied through UCAS, your place will be confirmed and you do not need to contact us. If you are taking international qualifications, please send us your results as soon as possible so we can confirm your place.

I have not met my conditions

If you have not met the conditions of your offer, we may still be able to confirm your place. To check Aston’s confirmation decision please use the UCAS Track service.

I have checked Track and no decision has been made what should I do?

There are a number of reasons why a confirmation decision has not been made. It may be due to one of the following:

  • We have received an incomplete result from the Examining Board. If you think this may be the case then please check with Aston via the Confirmation Hotline: 0121 204 4444 - Lines open at 8am on Thursday 18th August. Please send a copy of the result as soon as possible.

  • Additional conditions have not been met e.g. GCSE results, non academic conditions.

  • You have been unsuccessful on your first choice course; however, Aston would like to make you an offer on an alternative course. You should receive an email from Aston with details regarding the new course and how to accept/decline this offer.
